Solar Low or no cost up front

We have heard about companies that will install a solar system on your home and then lease you the system so you have little or no up front cost. I have even seen ads on this website making that claim, but checked and they are still not ready for sales.

Solar Water Heater - should I use CPVC or Copper?

I just acquired a nice solar system, 80 gallon tank with backup electric heater, differential controller, 4x10' collector panel from a house that was under renovation. Ihave all the parts - just need to install it.

They had the system all installed with copper/soldered joints. Should I stick with copper or can I use CPVC to run the plumbing from the tank to the collector?

inverter causing BAD radio interference

Hi Folks,

I'm new to the forum and this is my first post. I was hoping someone might
be able to offer my wife and I information concerning a situation with our
recently installed solar system.

Investors Wanted: Solar Electricity Long Term Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) $90/MWh cost --> $150/MWh price + index

Usually the first thing you see is the name of the company. Only a few folks I know on this board know what that is because I feel it's impolite to blatantly advertise on someone else's forum.

I'm seeking backers to install several concentrating solar power sites under PPAs. The plan is that the company would own & retain the capital equipment, and the customer would agree to purchase the energy for 5, 10, 20 years or more.

The Involved vs. The Apathetic -- odds anyone?

First I should state that I'm encouraged by all the visitors here and I appreciate every Watt of power that's conserved, instead of wasted! But I've gotta ask...

Where is everyone else? Are the rest of the people really that disconnected? Do they just not care? Do the simply not understand?

I'm simply running out of steam to continue the fight. Somebody, please come tag my out. Is there anyone out there that knows someone that's willing to take the plunge and invest in the technology?

I would love to learn how to add solar panels to my home to run my electricity....HOW? WHERE?

I own a 1930's home in Florida. Yet I cannot find anyone who knows how to do this, yet on the news the other day, a 14 year old was smart enough to build a system to power up items in his room. He then made a bet with his dad that if he did that, that his dad would let him do the house.....which they have done. The kids school heard about this and now the school is done!!! I am pretty convinced that I too, can get this done but by who? Where do I begin?

Solar & wind powered home

I am doing research on building a combination PV & wind turbine powered system to power a home for my senior design project for school. I also plan to build one for my home. Can anyone recommend any good books on the subject? Im looking for a detailed book, perhaps examples of actual built systems, procedures, spceifiactions, etc. Thanks in advance...

Solar Power in Texas

I live in San Antonio Texas and in the process of designing my home. I want to know more about how I can implement solar power into my home without breaking the bank. Solar Panels and/or Solar Shingles? Where do I start? How much could this cost me? Are there any Federal Tax breaks for Texas residents like they have for California and Arizona residents?
