I really liked every chapter of this book. I learned many new facts in this book and hear about interesting projects from all over the world.
He lays out the facts in a very well planned way. He tells of the sucess some countries have already had reducing pollution and traffic. I was amazed at how far places like New Zealand have come. They have over 70% renewable energy.
The facts are here to see we could be much farther than we are in the US. Since we were so sucessful and have subsidieszed oil and energy we use more oil than the next 3 countried combined. We seem to be the biggest problem since many developing countries follow our lead.
As good as this book is I feel it should add a few more items. When he talked about our food and how it uses a lot of water and energy to make he said we should eat more fruits and vegitables. He didn't seem to know you can be a complete vegitarian and even better vegan.
When he talked about transportation he did tell and bicycles and how good they are but them went to plug-in hybrids and didn't cover real 100% electric vehicles. The biggest item is they have to use advanced batteries. This wasn't mentioned. With hybrids he didn't tell how only a FULL hybrid like the Toyota system can become plug-in. Other hybrids are too weak and can't move 1 inch on electric alone.
He also told how ethanol and other bio-fuels can increase food costs. He didn't mention how we could stop growing tobbaco to make more fuels. Or stop making alcahol and make fuel. This could fix 2 problems at once. I wrote to them about adding more information.
This is a great book and it will only get better. Please read it and start helping be the change we need in the world. Tell others so they can all join with us and help.
