Francine Jansen - A Biography
FRANCINE JANSEN - A BIO
The diagnosis was cancer, and in a blink of any eye, my life took a dramatic turn. The year was 1988, and a lethal melanoma was spreading, spider-like just under the surface of my face. Barely bypassing facial nerves, it was attacking my sinuses and on a path which would have ended my life in a very short time.
As surgical scars were healing, I noticed that my face was extremely sensitive. Even the slightest breath of wind caused extreme pain. My Swedish-born mother swore by the "old remedies" using natural ingredients, such as baking soda and honey, to promote the body's own healing mechanisms. And, that's when I started experimenting with natural remedies to speed the healing process.
I blended these natural "household names" and they did soothe my face, but did nothing to remove the dead skin and surface debris. A neighbor of mine, from England, offered a powder to me that she used on her babies. I tried it and it worked. Now I had my "missing ingredient". Not only did it promote the healing of my surgical scars, it was very gentle. It cleaned and moisturized at the same time. Then I found I didn't have a source for this powder. The neighbor had since moved away.
I started my search for this natural powder. It was quickly determined that it was not from the United States, so began my correspondence with the pharmaceutical houses in England, Scotland, and Wales. I found what I was looking for but it was cost prohibited from overseas. I contacted Gillette, Dial, Colgate-Palmolive, Proctor & Gamble - I finally found my source. It worked but wasn't quite right in texture. A little experimenting on myself and my Face of the Sea line of skin care was born. I call my products "Face of the Sea", since the primary ingredient is a naturally occurring ocean mineral.
I became so interested in what I found out while seeking this ingredient, that I obtained a degree as an Esthetician and Cosmetologist. I also attended classes and studied medical alternatives through natural and organic healing. My interest in all things natural and organic has grown with each passing year. What I read and see makes me realize that too many people are relying on things artificial and dangerous to attain and keep their youth and beauty. All my products are natural, gentle and safe. They contain no harmful acids or chemicals and have never been tested on animals - only on myself, my family and my friends.
With encouragement from family and friends I began to market my exfoliating mask. Further encouragement came from letters and testimonials from people who have tried the mask on everything from cradle cap and blemishes to wrinkles and sunburn - all claiming astonishing results. I have since added an exfoliating cream and moisturizing lotions that are wonderful in helping heal and maintain healthy, flawless skin.
I have been listed in The Natiional Register's, and Manchester's Who's Who for my research in natural and organic products.
